The Philadelphia 76ers will face the Atlanta Hawks in an Eastern Conference showdown on Sunday. Although the two teams are going in different directions this year, this game could have playoff implications.
The 76ers have had a nightmare season. After a very successful offseason that saw them bring in star forward Paul George, everything has gone downhill.
Both George and star center Joel Embiid have missed significant time due to injuries, hurting Philadelphia on the court. The 76ers currently hold a record of 23-47 for the year, sitting in the No. 12 spot in the East standings.
With both George and Embiid out, many have looked to star guard Tyrese Maxey. But Maxey has also been dealing with a back and finger issue that has kept him out of the lineup.
Maxey has been limited to just 52 games this season due to his issues. The 76ers star guard will once again miss this game against the Hawks.

The Hawks are also dealing with some injuries heading into this game. The most notable name on the injury report is star point guard Trae Young.
Young has been dealing with some right Achilles tendinitis and has become a mainstay on the injury reports. However, the star guard was listed as probable for this game and will play against the 76ers.

For the season, Young has averaged 24.1 points, 3.2 rebounds, 11.4 assists, and 1.2 steals per game. Young has been special for the Hawks and has helped them turn their year around after a slow start.
Atlanta is battling for a playoff spot, so this game against Philadelphia is crucial to their overall success. The Hawks have won two straight entering this game and seven of their past ten overall.
This team is currently the No. 7 seed in the East and seems to be clicking at the right time. Atlanta will likely make the Play-In tournament, but they could be a tough team to deal with come playoff time.
