Colleen Hoover’s next book to hit the big screen is Regretting You.
The book, which came out after Hoover’s beloved thriller Verity, also turning into a film currently in production starring Dakota Johnson, Josh Hartnett and Anne Hathaway, has a star-studded cast set to bring the story to the big screen.
First packaged ahead of the TIFF market by north.five.six and WME, the film rights were nabbed by Paramount Pictures.

When is Regretting You coming out in theaters?
The Paramount Pictures production is set to release in theaters October 24, 2025.
Who is in the Regretting You film adaptation?
Allison Williams was one of the first stars to sign on in the role of Morgan Grant. McKenna Grace came next, and she will play Clara, Morgan’s daughter. Dave Franco will star as Jonah, Morgan’s love interest following the loss of her husband, Clara’s father. Mason Thames (How To Train Your Dragon) will star as Miller.
Deadline first reported the next two castings, those of Willa Fitzgerald and, a few days later, Scott Eastwood.
Who else is behind the film adaptation of Regretting You?
The Fault in Our Stars director Josh Boone will direct the film from a script written by After‘s Susan McMartin. Robert Kulzer is producing for Constantin Film alongside Harbinger Pictures’ Brunson Green, Frayed Pages Media’s Anna Todd, and Flavia Viotti. Hoover will also serve as executive producer alongside Williams, Franco, and Grace.

Morgan Grant (Williams) had her daughter Clara at a very young age, sacrificing some big dreams for motherhood. Clara’s father’s death in a car crash ratchets up the tension between her and her mother.

The people left behind can’t move forward without looking at the past. Regretting You explores what’s left behind after a tragedy, the messiness and grief, but also the beauty of life and love.
