Craig Conover suggested that Paige Desorbo dumped him over the phone weeks after they celebrated a “normal” Thanksgiving together last year.
Conover gave some insight into how their relationship allegedly crumbled in Bravo’s teaser for the Season 10 finale of “Southern Charm” released Wednesday.
“Paige and I had a great Thanksgiving together. Like, everything was normal at her parents’ [house], like our chemistry and everything,” he told co-stars Shep Rose and Austen Kroll in the clip.
He continued, “Then a couple weeks later she called me and was like, ‘We gotta talk.’”
Conover told his pals that he “knew” what that meant, insinuating that he felt the breakup coming in that conversation before she ended things.
Elsewhere in the teaser, Kroll weighed in on their split, admitting to Rose that Conover, 37, and the “Summer House” star, 32, were far from perfect together.
“I think that there were cracks, but I think that Craig was like, [it’s] not enough to terminate the relationship,” Kroll said.
Rose replied by expressing his compassion for the Spritz Society investor.
“I just feel bad for the guy ’cause it doesn’t sound like he was driving this bus,” Rose said.
DeSorbo announced in late December that she and Conover broke up after three years of dating.
“Craig and I have decided to no longer be together,” she shared on her and Hannah Berner’s “Giggly Squad” podcast at the time.
“I love him. I think he loves me. I think we will remain friends,” she continued. “No one did anything. It wasn’t a bad thing. I think we both were just being really mature and saying what we want and what we didn’t want, and I think that’s extremely powerful to be able to voice how you’re feeling in real time and what you want for your future.”
Two months later, DeSorbo clarified the timeline of their breakup after facing what she called “baseless” cheating rumors.
“I will say that Craig and I broke up Thanksgiving weekend. OK? That’s at the end of November,” DeSorbo said on her podcast in February.
She added, “Craig then went on and did press for ‘Southern Charm,’ did whatever he needed to do, acting as if we were still together. And that was fine. I said that he could do that. He was processing in his own way.”
DeSorbo emphasized that she never “physically” or “emotionally” cheated on Conover over the course of their three-year relationship after Kroll alleged that she had already moved on with another man.
The fashion influencer put Kroll’s claims to bed by confirming that she is single.
“Let me say this here and now, I did not move on with some new guy. I am single. I don’t have a new boyfriend,” the podcast host shared.
“I did not cheat on my ex-boyfriend,” she doubled down. “And it was a full month that we were broken up, and I didn’t say anything because even though we are public, there are certain things that I think should remain private, and he asked me not to say anything.”
DeSorbo asserted that “no one was blindsided” when they ended things — though Conover maintained that he was “very shocked” by the “very unexpected” termination of their relationship.
