A 75-year-old retired detective was shot dead by his son while fighting inside their Long Island home Wednesday morning, officials said. 

Christopher Miller, 43, allegedly blasted his father — former Suffolk County Police Department detective John “Jack” Miller — multiple times with a shotgun during an explosive argument inside their Dix Hills house around 7:25 a.m., according to cops.

The mayhem unfolded when the younger Miller came home after getting released from a local hospital following a Monday car crash, according to News 12 Long Island.

His father didn’t hear from him and reported him missing a day before the bloodshed. 

The son “recently moved into the house with his father following a divorce,” said Lieutenant Detective Kevin Breyer of the Suffolk County Police Department at the scene. 

After the deadly shooting, Christopher Miller ran and hid in a nearby shed on Seaman Neck Road, leading the spooked homeowner to call 911.

Responding cops took him back to his home, where they found the father dead in a pool of blood.

Police arrested Christopher Miller and charged him with murder. 

He was taken to the hospital for injuries sustained from the crash, cops said.

His arraignment is pending on a later date.

A member of the Miller family refused to comment when reached by phone Wednesday night.
