UU Tiles is the latest venture from Paris-based design studio Unknown, Untitled, reimagining the humble ceramic tile with enhanced functionality and modern aesthetic appeal. The UU Tiles collection adapts the functional aspects of living fixtures into a more architectural context, blurring the lines between object and space.
Glazed with a lustrous finish at a Normandy factory, the handmade tiles are shown in rosewood, fiery red, pale mint, pale yellow, deep blue, forest green, blue gray, light gray, off-shite and muted pink. Comprising three tile models, the collection includes a flat standard tile, a lamp tile and a hanger tile in each color.

For an immersive and elegant atmosphere, users can take a symmetrical, monochromatic approach. Alternatively, users can mix and match tiles in varying compositions for a more creative interpretation. Singular lamps and hanger tiles can even installed alone for a low-lift update. The versatile applications make the UU Tile collection expand upon the themes of mobility and flexibility that Unknown, Untitled explores in its work.
Established in 2016, Unknown, Untitled works on a diverse range of industrial design projects including more recently, aluminum cases for Rimowa, the Portal TV smart camera for Meta, and even a wind turbine for energy corporation Envision Group.
