Jimmy Kimmel has long roasted President Donald Trump for his relationship with First Lady Melania Trump, who is living a noticeably separate life from her husband in the White House. So much so, he did not believe President Trump when he vowed to “pray” for victims impacted by the tornadoes in the midwest with his wife.
Kimmel pointed out President Trump only addressed the storm victims after he spent his weekend at a tournament at his West Palm Beach golf course, the Trump International Golf Club.
“And then and only then he turned his attention to the storms two and a half hours after his golf brag,” Kimmel said before sharing Trump’s TruthSocial post which read: “We are actively monitoring the severe tornadoes and storms that have impacted many States across the South and Midwest — 36 innocent lives have been lost, and many more devastated… Please join Melania and me in praying for everyone impacted by these terrible storms!”
The late night host fired back, “Where were you and Melania praying? At the golf awards dinner?”
Kimmel then scoffed at the idea of President Trump and the First Lady “praying together.”
“Praying together might be the only activity those two do less than sleeping together,” he joked.
After President Trump won the election, early reports claimed the First Lady was expected to appear at important events but was not planning on living in the White House full-time.
“She’ll be wherever he isn’t,” Kimmel joked at the time, adding, “When the First Lady treats the White House like it’s an Airbnb, is that a good sign for the relationship?”
Kimmel then imagined what “a single Donald Trump” in the White House would be like.
“Hitting on UN translators, bringing playmates from 1994 back to the Lincoln Bedroom,” he joked. “It could be really great, actually.”
Jimmy Kimmel Live! airs on weeknights at 11:35/10:35c on ABC.
