A callous Rockefeller Center pickpocket snatched nearly $5,000 in cash from an 89-year-old man in broad daylight over the weekend, police said.

The elderly victim was going down the stairs inside the 47th–50th Streets–Rockefeller Center station in Midtown Manhattan around 4:40 p.m. Saturday when the much younger thief bumped into him, according to cops and sources.

The suspect then swiped a wallet from the senior’s left back pocket. The wallet had $4,700 in cash and a debit card in it, authorities said.

The elderly victim reported the theft Sunday, and the suspect, who appeared to be in his late 20s or early 30s, was still on the loose Monday, cops and sources said.

Grand larcenies reported within the city’s subway system are down so far this year, with 188 such incidents reported as of Sunday compared to 253 during the same period last year, according to the latest NYPD data.
