Internet users have been in hysterics over the unexpected video left on a woman’s phone after she lost it.
In January, TikTok user Kia Abbie (@kiaabbie) was out for an evening when she misplaced her cell phone. Luckily, a fellow partygoer picked up the phone and decided to record a funny video for when she was finally reunited with it.
Kia, from the United Kingdom, shared his recording on TikTok, leaving social media users in stitches.
The man starts by saying that he found her phone and texted her mom to let her know it was in safe hands. He even offered to drop the missing phone off at her house after getting it from Kia’s mom.
He then jokes about “a little favor” he’d like to ask Kia. He says that if she’s single, she should message him so they can get to know each other better. He then shares his cell phone number with Kia, which she left out of the TikTok video.
Newsweek reached out to Kia via Instagram for comment.
He clearly had some confidence when he captured the video. Since it was shared on TikTok on January 26, the video has gone viral, with more than 793,700 views and over 65,700 likes at the time of writing.
The TikTok post’s caption reads, “Lost my phone on a night out and seen this when I got it back.”
This was a meet-cute for the ages. It’s practically a modern-day Romeo and Juliet, 2025 edition. Since the clip was posted online, internet users have hailed the man’s attempt to connect with Kia, and many joked that it could even be the start of a new chapter.
Indeed, the TikTok post has amassed over 70 comments at the time of writing, as many viewers were obsessed with this idea.
One comment reads: “Hope this is the start of a love story.”
A TikTok user wrote: “Praying the algorithm will bring me back for this update.”
“That’s actually so sweet! And brave of him! Hope you meet up,” commented another social media user.
“Did you meet him? The people need to know,” joked one commenter.
