These two programs have split the season series at one game apiece with both matchups coming down to the wire. Creighton edged out UConn for a five-point win back in January when they first met, but the Huskies returned the favor by handing the Bluejays a four-point loss when they most recently played in February.
With neither team ranked inside the top-25, a trip to the NCAA Tournament could be on the line here. There is no guarantee UConn or Creighton makes it to the Big Dance, making this game even more crucial for both teams. The Huskies have won five straight, while the Bluejays have come out victorious in three consecutive games. Both teams are warming up at the right time of the year, making the winner of this matchup a threat to play spoiler once March Madness begins.
Ryan Kalkbrenner is a big-time player for Creighton, and in his senior season, he is 24th in the nation in scoring, averaging 19.8 points per game. He scored 32 in his last game against DePaul, and has reached the 20-point mark in five games in a row. UConn brings a more balanced attack to the stage with Solo Ball, Alex Karaban, and Liam McNeeley all averaging just over 14 points a night. Their versatility might prevail in this one.
