Alabama owned Kentucky in the regular season, winning both matchups, with the most recent being a 13-point victory in late February. That being said, the Wildcats are the hotter team right now having won three in a row, while the Crimson Tide has lost two of their last three.
Mark Sears is the player to watch in this game, and before only putting up nine points in their overtime win against No. 1 Auburn, he had averaged 28 points per game in his previous five games. As a senior, Sears is one of the top-40 scorers in the nation averaging just over 19 points per game. He is a streaky shooter, but the Wildcats could be in for a long night if he gets hot from three.
Kentucky will try to beat Alabama with a well-balanced attack. Otega Oweh leads the team with 16.5 points per game, but six different Wildcats are averaging double figures this season. Any one of their starters could take over this game and lead the team to an SEC Tournament semifinals appearance. Amari Williams is tough to contain in the paint and the big man has pulled down 22 rebounds in the two games against Alabama.

The winner of this game will move on to face No. 7 Missouri or No. 2 Florida in the semifinals. Every game matters now, and both teams know that a deep tournament run could make all the difference when Selection Sunday rolls around.
