A trip to the NCAA tournament is on the line, and a loss would likely mean missing out on an invitation to the Big Dance.
Jaron Pierre Jr. is a dynamic scorer for Jacksonville State, who can single-handedly take over this game. He is fourth in the nation in scoring, averaging 21.6 points per game, and has finished with at least 19 points in ten out of the Gamecocks’ last eleven outings. The senior from New Orleans will look to put on a show while proving he is talented enough to play at the next level.
Liberty has four players averaging double figures and will try to spread the ball around in this matchup. They have won four straight games, with a different player leading them in scoring in each one of those victories. Kaden Metheny had the hot hand in their semifinal win against Kennesaw State, as the senior guard made seven of his thirteen attempts from three. He finished the game with 24 points and will gladly take a back seat to any one of his teammates in this one if that is what it takes to secure a CUSA title.
