Diddy looks different.
On Friday, March 14, Sean “Diddy” Combs appeared before a judge in New York where he entered a not guilty plea for an indictment accusing him of forced labor, according to Reuters. The entertainer, 55, has been in jail since September 2024 while he awaits trial on racketeering and sex trafficking charges.
When the Bad Boy Records founder entered the courtroom, there was something strikingly different about him — he’s starting to gray. This was evident in court sketches that were released following the hearing, which showed Diddy with white hairs on his head and in his beard.
CBS New York reporter Alice Gainer attended the hearing and noted the same.
“Combs walked into courtroom sporting grey hair and a grey beard,” she wrote on X, formerly Twitter. “Judge asks if he wants him to read superseding indictment. ‘I’m fine’ Combs says.”
New York Post journalist Kyle Schnitzer was also at the hearing and shared his thoughts on Diddy’s appearance. He also noted the gray hair and added that Diddy looked “bloated.”
The bloating could be from Diddy’s jail diet, which has been reported by various outlets over the past six months. For example, in November 2024, People magazine reported the breakfast offerings at the correctional facility. They included oatmeal, biscuits, potatoes, and something referred to as “breakfast cake.”
Less than one month later, Diddy’s lawyer spoke out about his client’s time behind bars.
“I think the food’s probably the roughest part of it,” attorney Marc Agnifilo told reporters outside a Manhattan courthouse, according to People.
For his most recent court appearance, Diddy’s family, including his mother, Janice Combs, were in attendance. After about 45 minutes, Diddy was taken back to the Brooklyn Metropolitan Correctional Center where he will stay until his trial, which is set for May 5.
