Michelle and Barack Obama have found a way to stay “sane” amid the “gossip.”

The former first lady, 61, shared how she and her husband, 60, manage to get past “negative energy” in her Thursday appearance at SWSW as the couple continues to face speculation regarding their marriage.

“People always ask me and Barack, how did we stay hopeful in, not just the eight years that we were in the White House, but beyond?” Michelle said during the live taping of her new podcast, “IMO with Michelle Obama and Craig Robinson,” according to People.

“Because, let me tell you, there was a lot of negative energy flipping our way — a lot of rumors, a lot of gossip, a lot of, you know, my husband wasn’t born in this country … we weren’t patriotic, he didn’t get into Harvard.”

“But through it all, what kept us sane — and we tried to instill this in our daughters — is, you cannot live through social media,” she said, adding that she’s fairly sure she’s never “once looked at a comment section.”

“Don’t let that negative energy enter into your space. These are people who don’t know you. A lot of this stuff is made up, and it does not feed you,” she continued.

“That doesn’t mean you don’t stay informed, but staying informed has nothing to do with the comment section. It has everything to do with the content of the stories that you take in.”

The “Becoming” author added that she feels it’s not helpful for people to get “so trapped by social media that we feel so caught up into the one way we get information.”

“We’ve got to broaden our spectrum, and we have to get off the phone,” she ended.

Michelle and Barack found themselves at the center of unfounded divorce speculation earlier this month after the former president was seen on several occasions attending events by himself.

Earlier this year, Barack was photographed at both Jimmy Carter’s funeral and President Trump’s inauguration without Michelle.

However, a source explained Michelle’s absences to Page Six in January, telling us that Michelle is simply “checked out” of DC life.

The former president also shut down the speculation by posting a sweet birthday shoutout to the “love of [his] life” and by sharing a loved-up Valentine’s Day selfie of them.

The couple tied the knot in October 1992 and share daughters Malia, 26, and Sasha, 23.
