Keywords Studios, the international provider of external development for games and entertainment, is launching Keywords Studios AI Solutions.
The aim is to support developers with exploring the ethical use of AI technologies while preserving the human talent at the core of game creation, the company said.
Over the past several years, Keywords Studios has collaborated with production teams across the globe on various AI supported projects – testing and researching the capabilities of AI technologies across game development. Helpshift is among the tech being used in the solution.
Cross studio applied research projects Ava and Kara assessed over 500 AI tools alone, testing AI pipelines in a real-life production environment. This enabled the AI Solutions team to learn best approaches to AI solutions while developing a unique AI experimentation methodology.
From improving player support via Helpshift’s AI technologies, to the creation of a secure internal chatbot to accelerate safe AI adoption across Keywords Studios’ 70+ facilities, the Keywords Studios AI Solutions team brings extensive research and hands-on experience in the realities of integrating AI into game development.
The Keywords Studios AI Solutions team is fully dedicated to providing responsible and tailored AI implementation guidance to the games industry. This includes AI workshops with a focus on a design-thinking driven process to address challenges in the current production pipelines and identify areas where AI can improve efficiency and drive innovation.
It also includes innovation as a service. Inspired by Keywords Studios’ Project KARA, this is a tailored and proven AI applied R&D methodology aligned with developer’s business goals and objectives. It includes AI strategic expertise, where experts offer guidance on evaluating, selecting and implementing AI tools and technologies. And it includes AI engineering, with ongoing support for successful development and implementation of AI support tools within a game developer’s organization.
“Keywords Studios AI Solutions will enable developers across the industry to collaborate directly with our developers that have applied AI technologies and know the real benefits and challenges of the tech. This will enable them to bring AI into their game development pipelines without compromising the creativity or quality of their product for players,” said Stephen Peacock, head of games AI at Keywords Studios, in a statement.
