Eminem is advocating for a Women’s National Basketball Association (WNBA) team in his home of Detroit, joining a bid group to expand the league to his city.

Sources tell Sportico that Eminem is just one of many who would like to see Detroit participate in the WNBA, with the bid group comprised of some of the city’s “most prominent sports owners, executives and athletes.” While specifics of the possible expansion were not revealed, other factions are supposedly looking into shelling out about nine figures in cash.

Led by the Detroit Pistons and the team’s owner, Tom Gores, the group of bidders also include owners of the city’s NHL team the Red Wings, the MLB’s Tigers team, the NFL’s Lions team, former NBA players Grant Hill and Chris Webber, Lions quarterback Jared Goff, General Motors CEO Mary Barra and more.

Neither Eminem’s nor the Pistons’ reps have released statements.

As Sportico points out, the WNBA’s newest expansions into Toronto, San Francisco and Portland are backed by NBA owners, and this round of bidding (which ended in January) is no different. Over 10 cities submitted proposals ahead of the deadline, covering Austin, Charlotte, Cleveland, Denver, Detroit, Houston, Kansas City, Nashville and Philadelphia.

If Detroit is granted a WNBA franchise, the team would call Little Caesars Arena its shared home alongside the Pistons and Red Wings.
