George Clooney showed off his new hair color Tuesday after he admitted that his wife, Amal Clooney, was “going to hate” his new look.
The former silver fox was photographed meeting with fans following a preview of his new Broadway show, “Good Night and Good Luck,” in New York City.
George’s new brown hair was on display as he signed autographs and took photos with fans outside.
The “Ocean’s Eleven” actor, 63, looked casual for the outing, wearing a black zip-up jacket, khaki pants and white Adidas sneakers with black stripes.
The two-time Oscar winner dyed his hair brown for his role as Fred Friendly in the Broadway play, which he also directed and co-wrote.
George’s appearance comes a month after he told the New York Times that his wife, Amal, whom he wed in 2014, was not going to like his new ‘do.
“My wife is going to hate it because nothing makes you look older than when an older guy dyes his hair,” he told the outlet.
“My kids are going to just laugh at me nonstop,” the actor added, referring to his and Amal’s 7-year-old twins, Alexander and Ella.
In addition to changing his look, George also started smoking to fully get into character as Friendly, who smoked multiple packs of cigarettes a day and died from a stroke in March 1998.
“I had to get better at inhaling,” the “ER” alum told the newspaper.
“I go outside so the kids don’t see and smoke a little bit.”
George said he plans to switch to herbal cigarettes during his show — which will open on Broadway on April 3.
