With Love, Meghan has had a lot of press coverage. But the lifestyle series fronted by Meghan Markle struggled in the ratings, only just sneaking into Netflix’s top ten weekly ratings chart.
The eight-part series reached 12.6M hours viewed in its first week on the streamer. This was number ten behind ratings leader Kate Hudson-led comedy Running Point, which had 61.8M hours viewed across the week.
This was significantly down on the ratings for Harry & Meghan, which premiered in December 2022 and became Netflix’s biggest documentary debut ever. That series, which was directed by Liz Garbus, debuted with 81.6M hours viewed in its first three days and adding another 97.7M in its first full week on the service as well as 39.7M in its second full week on Netflix.
Live To Lead, a documentary series produced by the pair, failed to hit the top ten on Netflix so it’s not clear how many views it scored. Similarly, Heart of Invictus, which premiered in 2023, and Harry’s Polo series also failed to hit the top ten in their first week so weekly numbers aren’t available.
With Love, Meghan follows the Suits star as she hosts the likes of Mindy Kaling, chef Roy Choi, polo pal Delfina Figueras, and Abigail Spencer, cooking, planning kid-friendly tea parties, harvesting honey, hiking and making harvest baskets.
The series, which comes from Sony’s IPC and Markle’s own Archewell Productions, was originally handed a two-season order. The second season will debut later this year.
Executive producers are Meghan, Duchess of Sussex and Chanel Pysnik for Archewell, Aaron Saidman, Eli Holzman and Michael Steed for IPC and showrunner Leah Hariton. Steed served as director.
Elsewhere, in the top ten, Robert De Niro’s Zero Day was in second place, followed by Toxic Town, the first season of Paramount+’s Halo, American Murder: Gabby Petitot, Beauty in Black, WWE Raw, Andrew Schulz: Life and season seven of Formula 1: Drive To Survive.
