Billy Joel announced he was postponing his forthcoming concerts due to an undisclosed “medical condition” after falling on stage at a recent show.
The “Uptown Girl” crooner took to Instagram Tuesday to announce he pushed his concert dates from March to July to allow him time to “recover from recent surgery” and “undergo physical therapy under the supervision of his doctors.”
“While I regret postponing any shows, my health must come first,” he wrote. “I look forward to getting back on stage and sharing the joy of live music with our amazing fans. Thank you for your understanding.”
Joel, 75, “is expected to make a full recovery,” per the statement.
The “Piano Man” singer was scheduled to perform at the Rogers Center in Toronto, Ontario, on March 15 but won’t return to the stage until July 5.
His concerts are scheduled to run until July 2026.
Last month, Joel concerned fans after taking a fall while performing his 1980 track “It’s Still Rock and Roll to Me” at the Mohegan Sun in Montville, Conn.
Per a video shared on TikTok, he was moving his microphone stand around before he threw it into the crowd and lost his balance.
The “Pressure” singer fell on his back and stayed there for a few seconds before getting up.
Though he appeared OK, fans were concerned about the Grammy winner’s well-being.
“That fall at the end had me worried. I saw him a couple years ago and he’s still got it.. sounds great and he’s having a great time…maybe just stay on your two feet, Billy,” one person wrote.
“Oh my gosh he looks like he was hurt,” a second added, as a third chimed in, “Dangerous fall being 75.”
Joel also canceled a show in Florida because of a “medical procedure” in January, though the details were never revealed.
He also quickly returned to the stage after wrapping up his 150 shows for his decade-long residency at Madison Square Garden in New York City last year.
At the time, Page Six learned the music icon was gifted a ’78 Triumph Bonneville motorcycle from MSG, which signified the year he first performed at the historic venue.
