When you hear Bethenny Frankel say, “I would like to turn you on to a product,” you know you’re about to get a hot tip like it’s insider trading.
The galvanizing entrepreneur, author and former “RHONY” posted a TikTok last July, which included Rodial’s Banana Lowlighter. If the brand sounds familiar, it also makes the liquid blush drops that fellow “Housewife” Kyle Richards is obsessed with.
In Frankel’s TikTok, she begins applying it to her jawbone, explaining how it’s “like a contour product,” but more so to make areas prominent than darker. As she blends the product on her jaw, it does look remarkably sculpted.
Frankel continues to apply the yellow-tinted cream under her eyes using her makeup brush and quickly exclaims, “It made it brighter … it just opened my eyes. Isn’t that wild?”
“There’s something about this product, and I’ve never seen anything like it,” she added, with the top of the TikTok reading, “Magic Undereye Secret Weapon.”
According to the brand, Banana Lowlighter was “created to deliver that lit-from-within glow without the shimmer often found in brightening and highlighting products,” and it’s a color corrector, complexion enhancer and sheer-but-buildable concealer all-in-one.
The results impressed me enough to try it myself, and I must say, it’s everything Frankel’s TikTok promised for a glam, no-glitter sculpted face.
I even love Rodial’s Peach Lowlighter for every day, which is meant to be a more subtle version. The peachy tone completely counters the blue underneath my eyes, so I don’t even have to use concealer. I also use it around my nose and chin for a brightening effect. It looks a bit orange until blended, but then magically looks perfectly natural.
The creamy formula also lasts all day — without settling into fine lines, which I really appreciate.
The brand’s Latte Lowlighter offers the same benefits but “complements warmer skin tones.”
While perhaps no longer a “secret,” I still think it’s worth writing about. Shop yours and say bye to any under-eye darkness, too.
