Normally, cellos are saved for orchestras but for Hodakova Fall/Winter 2025, the armless wooden get up struck a chord. This Paris fashion week, the Swedish based designer returned to the runway with musically inspired silhouettes.
This season, the 2024 LVMH prize-winning designer explored the trending punk rock aesthetic with a collection filled with bumsters, leather, and black eyeliner. Models strutted down the runway with thick, smudged kohl eyeliner and skin-tight leather ensembles. Lace-up pants and shrunken cardigans felt nostalgic of an era all too recent in memory. An extremely slinky catsuit and barely there pant-dress solidified the rocker-esque sex appeal of the collection.
Elsewhere, designer Ellen Larsson dug into her brief archives to reiterate interpretations of awkward suit pant dresses, fringed belts, and upcycled materials. Like many other designers this season, Larsson dug into the fuzzy trend presenting multiple oversized coats made of hodge podge collections of fur materials.
To close, Larsson took punk-rock musical inspiration literally, featuring a drum set mini skirt and armless cello ensemble. There was no pity party here amongst the confident sex appeal and enveloping silhouettes.
