MLB has revealed an unprecedented animated short film featuring characters from Demon Slayer. Produced by animation studio ufotable, the video serves as a celebration of the upcoming MLB Tokyo Series that is set to unveil this month. Renowned players such as Shohei Ohtani, Shota Imanaga, Yoshinobu Yamamoto and Seiya Suzuki make their appearances alongside iconic Demon Slayers as the video portrays the evolution of Japanese baseball through the ongoing tradition of passing the torch across generations.

The short film begins with an electrifying shot of Tokyo Dome, filled with roaring crowds eagerly anticipating the first game of the 2025 MLB Tokyo Series between the Los Angeles Dodgers and the Chicago Cubs. The scene then shifts to close-ups of notable players from both teams, building excitement and tension for the upcoming event.

The realistic depiction of a typical game takes an unexpected turn as the main commentator introduces Urokodaki, the masked mentor from Demon Slayer, who steps in as a guest commentator who is captivated by Shohei Ohtani’s remarkable breathing form. The climax builds as the game commences, featuring a dramatic montage of Tanjiro and the Hashiras assembling, culminating in Ohtani’s impressive special move: “Batting Breathing First Form: Overpowering Home Run.”

This animated short film not only entertains but also serves as a teaser for the forthcoming collaboration between MLB and Demon Slayer. According to MLB, the partnership will include physical products that will be available for order during the MLB Tokyo Series, further blending the worlds of baseball and anime for fans.
