Jimmy Kimmel called out the Trump administration for bungling the highly anticipated release of new documents pertaining to Jeffrey Epstein’s case.
The late night host explained on Thursday’s episode of Live that Attorney General Pam Bondi announced the list of Epstein clients and his flight logs would be released earlier that day at noon. “Guess what? They weren’t released today at noon,” he said. “Instead, they released binders full of information everyone already had. Everything these people do is screwed up.”
He went on to complain that the Trump administration released the binders of information to right-wing influencers, including Liz Wheeler, instead of “real news media” outlets. Kimmel shared a clip of Wheeler addressing the “new” Epstein documents, in which she claimed the real information was being repressed.
“Not only is the Trump administration trying to give you transparency but the deep state agents are trying to hide it,” she claimed.
“That’s right the deep state agents are trying to hide it,” Kimmel sarcastically replied. “First, the deep state agents need to go through the documents to make sure they dot every I and cross out every DJT and then they can release the documents.”
He then called out “these looney tunes,” saying it’s “unbelievable” they are “conveniently forgetting that Donald Trump and Jeffrey Epstein were good friends.”
Kimmel pointed out that Trump was once quoted in a New York Magazine article calling Epstein a “terrific guy” and pointing out his proclivity for “beautiful women… on the younger side.”
The late night host then shared an anecdote from a 2019 New York Times story that revealed Trump and Epstein would throw a “calendar girl competition” at Mar-A-Lago.
“They flew in 28 women the only men at the party were him and Jeffrey Epstein,” he recounted. “It was him, Jeffrey Epstein, and 28 very disappointed calendar girls.”
Jimmy Kimmel Live! airs on weeknights at 11:35/10:35c on ABC.
