A concerned owner brought her dog to the vet’s office to determine the cause of the canine’s limp, only to discover that she is gullible.
Owner Nicole, who is known on TikTok as @aesthetic.nurse.nicole, noticing her dog, Ellie, limping for about two days. Ellie no longer wanted to go on walks. As any pet parent would, Nicole brought Ellie to the vet to determine what happened. But as soon as they sat in the room, Ellie had a change of heart.
“I had immediately taken my phone out to record her running and sent it to my husband who was at work,” Nicole told Newsweek via TikTok. “We were both in disbelief it was the same dog that was limping just hours ago!”
In her video posted to TikTok last week, Nicole filmed her dog happily walking around the vet’s room, hopping from the ground to the chair and back down again. She strutted with ease and no signs of limping. Nicole immediately felt embarrassed. Where did this come from?
“When the vet walked in I felt like I was trying to convince her that I wasn’t crazy, my dog really was limping for two days prior,” she said.
Nicole said the vet believed Ellie might’ve had a back spasm or pulled muscle and then magically, her dog no longer cared about the pain as soon as they walked into the office. She is just thankful nothing more serious happened to Ellie.
“It may have been the adrenaline of the vet visit for her but she was back to normal that same night,” she said. “Ellie was probably one of our vet’s easiest patients that day.”
Viewer Reactions
Nicole couldn’t believe the video of her attention-seeking dog became as popular as it did. The TikTok clip amassed more than 325,900 views and 68,400 likes as of Wednesday.
“Your dog is like, ‘Look I’m good, can we go home?’” commented one person.
Another added: “As someone who’s worked in both primary and emergency vet care, it’s not just you hun don’t worry about it.”
Others agreed with Nicole and suspected Ellie’s adrenaline kicked in: “I seriously think it’s like an adrenaline rush for them when they get there LOL.”
