Twitch announced this week that it has partnered with StreamElements to integrate the latter’s sponsorship platform directly into its streaming dashboard. This new move makes sponsorships easier to find and maintain for Twitch’s legion of creators, and those offered via StreamElements offer a guaranteed base pay and performance incentives. This is part of Twitch’s larger initiative to offer more monetization opportunities to all of its streamers, rather than just those with the biggest existing audiences.
To make it easier for creators, Twitch has launched a new Sponsorships tab on its dashboard, which includes a Creator Profile for creators to describe themselves to potential sponsors. According to Twitch, this profile will not only help creators attract sponsors that align with their own values and brand, but will also eventually be available off Twitch. Players can view their opportunities in the Sponsorships tab, as well as collect their payouts.
StreamElements is Twitch’s first partner on this initiative. According to the company, it functions the same as sponsorships do now, but the partnership increases discoverability for the average Twitch creator. To work with its sponsors, users have to go through StreamElements itself, which discloses the potential payout of the sponsorship as well as performance incentives via community participation. At present, this feature is available for 10,000 Twitch partners, with plans to roll it out to more users throughout the year.
Mike Minton, Twitch’s Chief Monetization Officer, said in a statement, “Twitch grows alongside its streamers as they build their communities and success, and sponsorships are key to that growth. With Creator Profiles and our new partnership with StreamElements, creators can now easily showcase their channels and connect with relevant sponsor campaigns. By integrating these tools into the Twitch dashboard, we’re simplifying the process of securing brand deals and helping streamers increase their revenue.”
