Billy McFarland‘s Fyre Fest 2 has received a brand new date and venue — if it pushes through, of course.
The founder told TODAY that the second installment of the ill-fated festival franchise will take place on Isla Mujeres in Quintana Roo, Mexico from April 25 to April 28. “We just needed the extra month to give our partners time to get everything ready,” McFarland said. A lineup was not revealed, but he revealed that attendees can expect “artists across electronic, hip hop, pop, and rock,” adding, “It’s not just music. We might have a professional skateboarder do a demonstration. We might have an MMA champion teach you techniques in the morning.”
General access tickets are priced at $1,400 USD and go up to $1.1 million USD for the “Prometheus” eight-person package. “You will be on a boat, have the luxury yachts that we partner with who will be docked and parked outside the island,” McFarland said of the “Prometheus” pacakage. “But once again, Fyre is not just about this, like, luxury experience. It’s about the adventure. So you’ll be scuba diving with me.”
McFarland plead guilty to fraud in March 18 following the events that transpired at the first Fyre Festival in 2017. He was sentenced to six years in prison but was released in 2022.
