Jessica Williams and Harrison Ford often share the screen in Apple TV+’s mental health dramedy Shrinking, but during the SAG Awards opening “I am an actor” segment, she would have preferred to take up the spotlight on her own.
As the Booksmart actress began her contribution to the heartfelt introduction, which involved performers like Jodie Foster and Mikey Madison, she found herself a wee bit side-tracked. “Los Angeles is often known as the city of dreams. And sure enough all my dreams have come true here. From my dream of preparing…” she began, before noticing Ford trying to sneak a piece of food behind her in the camera view.
By the time Ford understood what was happening and attempted to stop eating, Williams had already gotten distracted, breaking into laughter and playfully shouting, “I told him to turn away!” She burst into further fits of giggles as Ford attempted to hide behind her completely, “Don’t look!” she yelled.

Continuing when back on track, Williams said, “From my dream of preparing in a Starbucks bathroom before an audition to my dream of crying in a Del Taco bathroom afterwards. I’ve lived my dream of changing clothes while parked on a street nice enough to have shady trees, but not so nice that some white lady called the police on me,” earning laughs from Shrinking team Brett Goldstein and Bill Lawrence.
“And I’ve also fulfilled my ultimate dream of enthusiastically performing a monologue for a casting director while they enthusiastically ate a salad. But more than just a dream factory, this city has always been my home,” she said, before signing off as a “born and bred” Angeleno while flashing cheeky peace signs and sticking her tongue out.
After concluding her brief monologue, she turned around and teased Ford further, tapping him on the shoulder as he laughed.
