The 56th annual NAACP Image Awards will be held on Saturday night at the Pasadena Civic Auditorium in Pasadena, California, with BET providing television coverage of the event.
The NAACP Image Awards honor the achievements of people of color across a variety of mediums, including film, music, literature, and television.
The biggest award is the Entertainer of the Year award, with Cynthia Erivo, Keke Palmer, Kendrick Lamar, Kevin Hart, and Shannon Sharpe as the finalists. The five represent a broad spectrum of arts and entertainment.

Outstanding Motion Picture features Bad Boys: Ride or Die, Bob Marley: One Love, The Piano Lesson, The Six Triple Eight, and Wicked as finalists while Outstanding Actor in a Motion Picture features André Holland — Exhibiting Forgiveness, Colman Domingo — Sing Sing, John David Washington — The Piano Lesson, Kingsley Ben-Adir — Bob Marley: One Love and Martin Lawrence — Bad Boys: Ride or Die.
Up for Outstanding Actress in a Motion Picture are Cynthia Erivo — in Wicked, Kerry Washington — In The Six Triple Eight, Lashana Lynch — in Bob Marley: One Love, Lupita Nyong’o — In a Quiet Place: Day One, and Regina King — in Shirley.
In addition to these awards, awards will be given out for Outstanding Directing in a Motion Picture, Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Motion Picture, Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Motion Picture, and many others.
In music, the race for Outstanding Album is down to Alligator Bites Never Heal — Doechii, Cape Town to Cairo — PJ Morton, Coming Home — Usher, Cowboy Carter — Beyoncé and Glorious — GloRilla.
