G-SHOCK set the precedent for the unbreakable watch, a utilitarian accessory built for the streets and natural elements alike. Recently, the brand has introduced manufacturing efforts that reduce environmental impact and build upon the watchmaker’s legacy of innovation and boundary-pushing design. Among them is the introduction of the CORDURA® re/cor, a fabric strap naturally dyed with FOOD TEXTILE (specifically red beet and echinacea). The brand’s latest Urban Outdoor collection, a gritty lineup geared toward adventurers and the great outdoors, offers neutral colorways of the GA-010CE-2A and GD-010CE-5.

Designed to weather everything from water sports to mountaineering, dirt biking and ATV, each watch features a shock-resistant structure and 20-bar water resistance. The collection nods to streetwear’s obsession with gorpcore, boasting an ultra-bulky, multifaceted case design and front button providing an ergonomic watch face. Even if you’re not planning to brave the natural elements, the GA-010 models seamlessly pair with cold-weather styles and recreational clothing, from oversized parkas and voluminous puffer jackets to relaxed hoodies and baggy cargo pants. The fabric bands add to this styling fluidity with soft-toned colors that complement rather than scream. The GA-010CE-2A showcases a monochromatic teal color scheme, while the GD-010CE-5 opts for a tonal brown/khaki makeup.

Key components, including the case, bezel and lugs, utilize bio-based resin — yet another element where G-SHOCK unearths its green thumb. Highlighted in the collection is a high-capacity battery slated to last up to ten years. Standard features return, like a 1/100-second stopwatch, a countdown timer, five daily alarms, world time in 31 time zones and a Super Illuminator LED (incorporated as a backlight for the GD-010CE-5).

Check out each watch model in the galleries above, and head to G-SHOCK’s website to shop the Urban Outdoor collection. Collectors can stay on top of the brand’s latest launches here.
