Actually, everybody wants a Nobody Wants This season 2. And we’ve got good news: It’s officially happening!
Romantic comedy is so back thanks to Netflix’s latest, which climbed to the number one spot the week after it premiered. The first 10 episodes followed the unlikely love story between sex and relationships podcaster Joanne (Kristen Bell) and Jewish rabbi Noah (Adam Brody), along the way reminding millennial viewers why we all fell in love with Brody back on The O.C.
The show was not just popular with fans but also industry insiders, who nominated the show for three Golden Globes, including best television musical or comedy series, as well as best performance nods for Brody and Bell. Even though they lost, that’s a pretty big deal—and Brody later took home the award for best actor in a comedy series at the Critics Choice Awards.
Season one ended with Joanne and Noah together, but a lot of questions remain unanswered. Will Noah have to give up being a rabbi altogether? Will Bina ever learn to fully accept Joanne? And what, exactly, is going on between Sasha and Morgan?
Here is everything we know about what comes next.

The Adam Brody and Kristen Bell rom-com series is a delightful binge, but veers into territory that’s a bit too frustrating and predictable.
Has Nobody Wants This been renewed yet?
A few weeks after Nobody Wants This premiered on September 26, Netflix made things official: On October 10, the streamer announced that the show had been renewed for a second season—but there will be some big changes behind the scenes. Jenni Konner and Bruce Eric Kaplan, former executive producers of HBO’s award-winning dramedy Girls, will join as executive producers and showrunners; Nora Silver will also join as an executive producer, alongside season-1 executive producers Erin Foster, Sara Foster, Kristen Bell, and Steven Levitan.
In a press release Konner called the opportunity to work on season two “a dream.”
“Erin is the rare creator with a crystal clear voice and a genuinely collaborative spirit,” she added. “I am a true fan of Erin’s show and also feel so lucky to be back in a room with two of my favorites, Bruce Kaplan and Sarah Heyward from Girls.”
Said Foster, “Creating Nobody Wants This will forever be a career highlight for me. The incredible cast, crew, producers, and executives all made this into the show it is today, and to experience viewers’ reactions to this series now that it’s out in the world has been more than anything I could have dreamed. I’m so lucky to be able to continue this story, and to do it alongside Jenni Konner and Bruce Eric Kaplan, who I’ve been such a fan of since Girls… Justice for healthy relationships being the most romantic!”
Which cast members are returning?
The principal cast is confirmed to return, including Kristen Bell (Joanne), Adam Brody (Noah), Justine Lupe (Morgan), and Timothy Simons (Sasha).
Additional returning cast includes Stephanie Faracy (Lynn), Michael Hitcock (Henry), Tovah Feldshuh (Bina), Paul Ben-Victor (Ilan), Emily Arlook (Rebecca), Jackie Tohn (Esther), Sherry Cola (Ashley), and Shiloh Berman (Miriam).

Erin Foster created the Netflix series after “falling for a nice Jewish boy” named Simon Tikhman. Here’s their love story.
What about new cast members?
On February 20, Brody’s wife Leighton Meester said it “would be really fun” to make a cameo in season two during an interview with TV Line. That very same day, Variety announced that the Gossip Girl star has already been cast in a guest role.
According to Variety, Meester will play “Joanne’s middle school nemesis” named Abby, “who is now an Instagram mommy influencer.”
This news comes after Brody profusely thanked his “darling, darling, darling wife” in his CCA acceptance speech earlier this month, saying, “Thank you for sharing this life with me, and this journey with me. Thank you for our family. [I] love you with all my heart.” Now they’ll really be sharing this journey together!
Meanwhile, Miles Fowler will also guest star as Lenny, “Noah’s (Brody) Matzah Ballers teammate who gets set up with Morgan.”

What has the show’s creator said?
Creator Erin Foster told TheWrap that she intentionally ended the first 10 episodes in a way that allows for the story to continue. “I’m not trying to make some artistic choice that strips the audience of the happy ending that they want. But you also don’t want to clean it up too much where there’s nowhere to go,” she said.
When will season 2 of Nobody Wants This premiere?
According to the October 10 announcement from Netflix, season two of Nobody Wants This is slated for a 2025 release. Considering the many behind-the-scenes changes, I assume it’ll premiere in the latter half of the year, though I’d also love to be proven wrong!
