Daniel Penny was at Mar-a-Lago over the weekend and was greeted by President Trump when the Marine was at a table with onetime “America’s mayor” Rudy Giuliani, sources exclusively told Page Six.
A spy said, “On Saturday night, Trump was seen at his regular table,” at the private Florida club, “in deep conversation with [Fox News anchor] Bret Baier over dinner.”
“After eating, the president — who did a brief DJ stint on his iPad from his table — then got up and worked the room talking with Rudy Giuliani and being chummy with Daniel Penny,” we hear.
The source added that, “Giuliani and Penny were at a large table for 12, and stood up to talk to the commander-in-chief.”
The insider told us, “Trump called Perry ‘a good guy who did the right thing.’ The pair shook hands, spoke, and were seen smiling.”
He was also seen the same night at Mar-a-Lago posing for a pic with new FCC chairman Brendan Carr, who has been cracking down on broadcasters’ DEI programs.
Penny, 26, was acquitted last year of criminally negligent homicide in the 2023 chokehold killing of Jordan Neely on the NYC subway.
This month, he was honored by the Marine Corps League and also landed a cushy job at a Silicon Valley venture capital firm, Andreessen Horowitz, in NYC as a deal partner on the firm’s American Dynamism team, investing in government and defense tech.
Penny has met Trump before: They attended the annual Army-Navy football game just five days after his acquittal.
The Post reported that Giuliani is exploring running again for New York mayor next year, according to insiders.
Rudy has said, “I’m not going to say never, ever, ever,” but that, “it’s unlikely,” while he’s busy fighting a $148 million judgment and facing two criminal indictments.
Spies said Trump also had a cozy Valentine’s Day dinner at Mar-a-Lago with the first lady, wife Melania.
