Rihanna has already reacted to A$AP Rocky‘s acquittal on February 18 and, clearly, she’s feeling pretty good.
Rocky, Rihanna’s partner and father of her two children, was accused of shooting his former friend A$AP Relli in 2021, and charged with two counts of felony assault. On February 18, a California jury found the rapper not guilty, per People. In response, Rihanna took to Instagram to offer her message of thanks to God.
In an Instagram story, with white text over a black background, Rihanna wrote, “The Glory belongs to God and God alone. Thankful, humbled by his mercy!”
Immediately after the verdict was read, her partner had an even more exuberant response. Rocky jumped over the stand to hug Rihanna, as well as his mother and sister. He told the jury, “Thank y’all for saving my life. Thank y’all for making the right decision.” Outside the courtroom, Rocky told reporters, “This whole experience has been crazy for the past four years but I’m thankful, nonetheless, I’m thankful and I’m blessed to be here right now, to be a free man talking to y’all right now.”

Rihanna supported her partner all throughout the three-week trial, often accompanying him to court and sitting with his family, acting as a support—or, as others have argued, a shield—that legitimizes his image as a caring partner and father. Per the Associated Press, Rihanna and Rocky entered the courtroom together for the first time on January 31, though the singer had been brought in secretly on other previous visits. On February 13, per Rolling Stone, Rihanna also brought her and Rocky’s two sons, RZA and Riot, to sit in the front row to hear the closing arguments.
