‘Poker Face’ Season 2: Everything We Know So Far

After its Season 2 renewal in February 2023, Rian Johnson’s and Natasha Lyonne’s Poker Face the case-of-the-week mystery series is back in production for its next installment.

Season 1 of the Peacock show featured 10 episodes of Lyonne’s Charlie Cale, a Vegas casino worker whose keen sense of honesty leads to a Columbo-style show and reverse detective format. Johnson, who also has Wake Up Dead Man: A Knives Out Mystery in the works with a stacked cast, describes the show as a “howcatchem” versus a “whodunit” which is the format of the Knives Outand Glass Onion films.

Is Poker Face Season 2 in production?

Yes, Rian Johnson posted on his Instagram when production on Season 2 began. The photo contained a clapboard that featured Lyonne as episode two’s director.

Has Natasha Lyonne directed an episode of Poker Face before?

Yes, Lyonne co-wrote and directed “The Orpheus Syndrome” in Season 1.

Who is in the cast of Poker Face Season 2?

So far, the big-name guest stars in Season 2 include Giancarlo Esposito (Better Call Saul, Parish), Cynthia Erivo (Wicked), Katie Holmes (Our Town, Ray Donovan), Gaby Hoffmann (Transparent, Eric),  Kumail Nanjiani (Welcome to Chippendales, Only Murders in the Building), Kathrine Narducci (Euphoria), Sherry Cola (Shortcomings), Kevin Corrigan (Narcos: Mexico) and Ben Marshall (Saturday Night Live).

John Mulaney (John Mulaney Presents: Everybody’s in LA), Ego Nwodim (Saturday Night Live) and Sam Richardson (Ted Lasso) will also guest star in Season 2. Awkwafina (The Farewell), Corey Hawkins (Straight Outta Compton), Simon Rex (Red Rocket) and Cliff “Method Man” Smith (Power Book II: Ghost), joined Season 2 as guest stars, as reported exclusively by Deadline in Nov. 2024.

The latest round of guest stars announced in 2025 includes Davionte “GaTa” Ganter (Dave), Haley Joel Osment (Blink Twice), John Cho (Searching), Justin Theroux (Beetlejuice Beetlejuice) and Patti Harrison (I Think You Should Leave with Tim Robinson).

The extensive list of Season 1 guest stars included Adrien Brody, Angel Desai, Audrey Corsa, Benjamin Bratt, Brandon Michael Hall, Charles Melton, Chelsea Frei, Cherry Jones, Chloë Sevigny, Clea DuVall, Colton Ryan, Danielle MacDonald, Dascha Polanco, David Castañeda, Ellen Barkin, Hong Chau, Jasmine Aiyana Garvin, Jack Alcott, Jameela Jamil, Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Judith Light, Leslie Silva, Lil Rel Howery, Luis Guzmán, Megan Suri, Niall Cunningham, Nicholas Cirillo, Nick Nolte, Reed Birney, Rhea Perlman, Ron Perlman, Rowan Blanchard, S. Epatha Merkerson, Shane Paul McGhie, Simon Helberg, Stephanie Hsu, Tim Blake Nelson and Tim Meadows.

Who is behind Season 2 of Poker Face?

Tony Tost will serve as showrunner for Season 2 as well as executive producer. Johnson serves as creator, writer, executive producer and director.

Nora Zuckerman and Lilla Zuckerman were showrunners on Season 1 in addition to executive producers. They remain executive producers for Season 2.

Rian Johnson’s T-Street Productions and MRC Television produce the show with Lyonne’s Animal Pictures Banner. Executive producers include Johnson, Bergman and Lyonne as well as Nena Rodrigue, Adam Arkin, Ram Bergman and Iain MacDonald.
