Patrick Schwarzenegger and his family were moved to tears when he announced he was cast in one of their favorite shows: The White Lotus.
The actor shared a touching video of the moment he announced the news to his sister Katherine Schwarzenegger and his mother Maria Shriver.
“This is the moment I found out I booked White Lotus,” he wrote in the caption.
“At first, I was told I had to keep It a secret, but my family kept noticing me acting weird,” he continued, adding that Shriver had assumed his fiancée, Abby Champion, was pregnant.
In the video, Patrick tells his family: “I’m going to Thailand,” cueing lots of screams and cries from the group. The video then shows Patrick and Shriver embracing and crying. “You’re going to make me cry,” he tells Shriver.
“She might have been happier than I was!!” he wrote of Shriver’s reaction in the caption. “And then I started crying. She did. Katherine did. Was a domino effect. Mind you this was in a restaurant with other people lol.”

“My whole family are huge fans of the show, and would always mess with me saying I needed to find a way to get onto this show,” he wrote. “Anyways it’s a special moment when you get to celebrate with people you love. It was one of those dream come true moments for me.”
Patrick went on to thank White Lotus creator and writer Mike White for casting him on the show.
The Gen V actor stars in the hit HBO series as the arrogant eldest son of Jason Isaacs and Parker Posey, both of whom are hiding secrets of their own. He also stars alongside Sam Nivola and Sarah Catherine Hook, who play his siblings.
Needless to say, Patrick’s family has been nothing but supportive of his new role. His father, Terminator star Arnold Schwarzenegger, gave him a shoutout and praised his shocking nude scene in the first episode.
“What a show! I could claim to be surprised to find out he has a nude scene, but what can I say – the apple doesn’t fall far from the tree,” he wrote on a recent social media post. “Don’t miss it this Sunday – trust me.”
