With the release of the Big Bang Unico Magic Ceramic Limited Edition, Hublot has unveiled the world’s first multicolor ceramic watch. Dubbed “Magic Ceramic,” this latest achievement took several years to perfect and also serves as another testament to Hublot’s innovative spirit.
Achieving multicolored ceramic requires a deep understanding of the material as well as color reproduction. Each pigment must endure different temperatures during the baking and molding processes, making it a complex challenge to achieve a homogeneous and flawless result consistently.
Arriving in a 42mm microblasted and polished black ceramic case, the new reference highlighted a dark gray ceramic bezel, which boasts blue circular patterns that are reminiscent of pop art. Coming in a matte-black finish, the dial showcases an openworked design, offering a glimpse into its HUB1280 UNICO Manufacture caliber’s inner workings. The self-winding chronograph movement comes with a flyback function, offering a rate of 28,800 vph and around 72 hours of power reserve.
Limited to 20 pieces and retailing at $33,000 USD, the Big Bang Unico Magic Ceramic is finished with a black lined rubber strap. To inquire about the watch’s availability, head over to Hublot’s website.
