Live from New York it’s the Saturday Night Live 50th Anniversary special on NBC on Sunday at 8 p.m. ET. NBC is set to honor the legacy of its long-running show with a special milestone event, featuring a mix of current cast members and iconic alumni from past seasons.
This celebration will bring together familiar faces from different eras, creating a unique blend of nostalgia and fresh talent to pay tribute to the show’s enduring impact.
Chevy Chase, Garrett Morris, Jane Curtin, and Laraine Newman — four of the surviving original cast members are expected to return. They will be joined by other alums, including Adam Sandler, Amy Poehler, Andy Samberg, Chris Rock, Eddie Murphy, Fred Armisen, Jason Sudeikis, Jimmy Fallon, Kate McKinnon, Kenan Thompson, Kristen Wiig, Maya Rudolph, Molly Shannon, Pete Davidson, Seth Meyers, Tina Fey, Tracy Morgan, Will Ferrell and Will Forte.

A roster of Hollywood’s biggest celebrities will also join the celebration, making the special even more exciting. Among the confirmed celebrities are Adam Driver, Ayo Edebiri, Bad Bunny, Dave Chappelle, John Mulaney, Kim Kardashian, Martin Short, Miley Cyrus, Paul McCartney, Paul Simon, Pedro Pascal, Peyton Manning, Quinta Brunson, Robert De Niro, Sabrina Carpenter, Scarlett Johansson, Steve Martin, Tom Hanks and Woody Harrelson.
According to current and former producers and writers, the special has been years in the making. Creator and Executive Producer Lorne Michaels has meticulously curated the special that will create a great amount of nostalgia, excitement, and laughter.
NBC re-aired the very first episode of SNL on Saturday. The show, which was originally titled NBC’s Saturday Night, taped on Oct. 11, 1975.
The 40th-anniversary special in 2015 featured a cold open with Jimmy Fallon and Justin Timberlake, a monologue from Steve Martin with a bevy of celebrity cameos, and sketches with more of the show’s all-timers. Expect even more than that on Sunday.
