Teddi Mellencamp is currently being treated for multiple brain tumors, the Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star revealed on February 12.
In an Instagram message shared to 1.1 million followers, the 43-year-old television personality revealed she would be heading into surgery to remove two of the six tumors before undergoing radiation to get rid of the rest. “I am blessed to be surrounded by my children, family, friends, doctors, nurses and surgeons who are doing everything possible to get me back into better health,” she wrote in her post. “Thank you to everybody who has reached out, and to everyone who has supported me along this journey.”
This diagnosis comes about three years after Mellencamp first began sharing updates on her battle with melanoma, though she has not revealed if the brain tumors are related to her skin cancer. Here’s everything Mellencamp has revealed about her ongoing health journey.
Mellencamp was diagnosed on February 11.
In her post, Mellencamp revealed she suffered “debilitating headaches” for “several weeks” before she was hospitalized on February 11. “After a CT scan and MRI, doctors found multiple tumors on my brain, which they believe have been growing for at least 6 months,” she explained in her post.

Mellencamp underwent surgery on February 12.
In her post, the reality star revealed she’d be undergoing surgery to remove two of the brain tumors before beginning radiation to address the “smaller” tumors.
Ahead of her surgery, Mellencamp shared multiple videos and selfies about shaving her head, calling it her “best look” yet. In the Instagram Story videos, Mellencamp was surrounded by loved ones, including fellow RHOBH star Kyle Richards.
“Once I’m allowed to wash my hair and it’s not all spiky, I think I’ve [given] you a run for your money, Hud,” she warned her brother, Hud Mellencamp, in another Instagram Story.
Mellencamp has been battling skin cancer for years.
This diagnosis comes years after the reality star shared she was diagnosed with stage II melanoma in October 2022. “Melanoma awareness update. Despite my anxiety, I listened to the doctors and went in for my 3-month skin check last week since my previous melanoma,” she wrote via Instagram at the time. “They said I had another abnormal spot near my last one so they did a biopsy. I got the call this morning: Stage 2 melanoma.”

Mellencamp decided to share her journey to spread an important message. “Moral of this story: if a doctor says, ‘come in every 3 months’ please go in every 3 months. I so badly wanted to blow this off,” she wrote on October 11, 2022. “I continue to share this journey because I was a ’90s teen, putting baby oil and iodine on my skin to tan it. Never wearing sunscreen or getting my moles checked until I was 40 years old. This has been such a wakeup call for me, and I hope to all of you, to love and protect the skin you’re in.”
A week later she revealed that two other moles tested positive for melanoma and explained her treatment plan, writing, “I will need wide encision [sic] surgery removal and nodal mapping. During the surgery they will also do a sentinel lymphoid biopsy. Because with a PET scan they can’t see if it’s spread to lymph nodes.”

She revealed the surgeries were successful in early December. “So I say peace out to 11 melanomas and 3 lymph nodes—I gladly hardly knew ya—and hello to a new sense of peace,” she wrote at the time. “It’s been eye-opening how quickly things can change and it’s a lesson I will never forget, nor quit speaking up about. I want nothing more than for all of you to be proactive so you do not have to experience this. Let my scars be your inspiration to get preventative care.”

More melanoma was found in September 2023.
After continuing to update fans on irregularities and checkups to encourage regular screenings and doctor visits, Mellencamp shared that another biopsy came back positive for melanoma.
“I have been debating whether I should even publicly talk about this or not but then I remember how every time I post about skin cancer someone else is reminded to get checked,” she began her message, adding that her latest diagnosis had been caught “early” thanks to three-month checkups.

Though doctors attempted to treat the “broad” area with “immunotherapy cream,” a topical medication that “uses the body’s immune system to attack cancer cells,” Mellencamp ended up undergoing another surgery in late December 2023.
