Just days after a big weekend ended with it once again at the forefront of the Oscars race, the upcoming Anora Criterion Collection 4K special edition has reached its lowest price ever on Amazon.
Anora, available to preorder now, is 30% off as part of Criterion’s limited-time sale on 4K copies; Amazon is price-matching to also offer the 30% off discounts to all 4K discs, including preorders. If you preorder Anora, which will ship on April 29, today, you’ll ensure you’re getting the lowest price thanks to Amazon’s preorder guarantee.
This past weekend, Sean Baker’s Palme d’Or winner took home Best Picture wins from the Critics Choice Association, the Director’s Guild of America, and the Producer’s Guild of America, putting it in a great position as Oscar voting opens ahead of the March 2 ceremony.
Anora is an “anti-Cinderella” story that follows Ani (Mikey Madison), a Brooklyn sex worker who marries the rich son of a Russian oligarch, Vanya (Mark Eydelshteyn), looking for a way to get his Green Card. However, the fairytale fractures when Vanya’s parents find out and fly to America to end the marriage.
The film is currently up for six Academy Awards in addition to Best Picture. Baker was nominated for Best Direction, Best Original Screenplay, and Best Film Editing; Madison received a Best Actress nod, while Yura Borisov was recognized in the Best Supporting Actor category.
