Though the large Louis Vuitton bag with prominent logos was hard to miss, that was not the first thing I noticed when I saw Gitanjali Arora walking along Ninth Avenue in Manhattan on a Sunday in mid January. The fits and textures of her heavyweight trousers and double-breasted tweed coat caught my attention.
Ms. Arora, 41, who works in financial technology, was strolling with her husband after having brunch at Balthazar in SoHo. She described her style as “eclectic and luxurious, with an emphasis on comfort,” adding that she liked to accessorize her ensembles with pearls, scarves or brooches “for a touch of individuality.”
While talking about the outfit she was wearing when we met, Ms. Arora said her trousers were a “random find” at a small shop in Paris. She also revealed a fondness for a certain material. “I have a weakness for tweed,” she said. “So the coat was love at first sight.”
