Christina Chong, known for her role in Line of Duty, has dropped the biggest hint yet that the beloved crime drama may be gearing up for a seventh season.

The BBC’s acclaimed anti-corruption thriller, which followed the investigations of AC-12, concluded in 2021 with a finale that drew 15 million viewers. However, some fans were left underwhelmed by its ending. Now, speculation is mounting that the cast and crew are preparing to return for another installment.

According to The Daily Mail, Chong—who portrayed DI Nicky Rogerson in both the second and sixth seasons—was asked about the possibility of a comeback while attending the Hollywood Saturn Awards. She responded:

“I have been asked about a season, is it seven? Yeah. Potentially Nicola Rogerson will be back for season seven.”

Meanwhile, Martin Compston, who played Steve Arnott, recently hinted at a possible return, saying he’d “like to pull his waistcoat out again.”

Adrian Dunbar, who portrayed Superintendent Ted Hastings from the show’s inception, also appeared to tease a new season during an interview on Virgin Radio. When asked about his character’s signature Irish expressions, he shared:

“The one I didn’t get in, which is kind of a really good Irish one about not stopping things happening is, ‘Don’t stall the digger.’

“That’s a good one, isn’t it? Like, you know, ‘You’ve got to keep going.’ That’s going in the next season.”

Created by Jed Mercurio, Line of Duty became renowned for its gripping twists and willingness to kill off major guest stars. The series originally aired on the BBC in the UK and is currently available for streaming on Peacock in the US.
