After reimagining a Rolex GMT-Master II into an adventurous worldtimer, Artisans de Genève returns with a newly completed bespoke timepiece based on another iconic reference. Remodeled from a Rolex Submariner 116610, “Brown Ice” transforms the inspirations of an artisan client into this stunning creation.
Blending icy blue and rich brown hues, “Brown Ice” derives its aesthetic cues from a serene scenery, where runabout boats, polished mahogany wood and lakes become the core subjects. “Wearing this watch makes me feel the same freedom I experience while navigating. Brown Ice captures my individuality, adventurous spirit, connection to water and my passion for craftsmanship and detail,” noted I.S.L., the client and owner of this timepiece.
The reworked dial now exhibits a skeletonized movement, sandblasted, palladium-treated and delicately crafted to embody a balance between strength and fragility. Each element is hand-cut, beveled and polished to reveal the intricate inner workings of the watch. Together with the ice-blue skeletonized dial, blued hour markers, sapphire date disc and translucent sapphire case with a blued oscillating rotor create a striking interplay of light and layers.
