Changing weapons mid-hunt is now possible for the first time in Monster Hunter Wilds.
Players can now bring two weapons on a hunt — allowing you to further optimize your equipment for the battle at hand. The Seikret, your trusty mount, carries your secondary weapon in a sheath, and is ready to swap your weapons as long as you call for its aid.
Here’s how to change weapons in Monster Hunter Wilds.
How to set primary and secondary weapons in Monster Hunter Wilds
Before you head out on a hunt, you’ll need to set your weapon loadout at any camp:
- Enter the tent and switch over to the “Equipment Menu.”
- Select the “Change Equipment” button where you’ll see your equipped weapons and armor pieces.
- Select either your primary or secondary weapon to open a new menu with every available weapon.
- Choose your two desired weapons.
Make sure to set your main weapon in the primary slot as it’ll be the weapon you start with.
How to change weapons in Monster Hunter Wilds
To change weapons in Monster Hunter Wilds mid-hunt, you’ll need to call your Seikret over by pressing “X” on PC or “Right D-Pad” on Console, so you can switch your weapon for the one in the sheath.
It’s important to note doing this will make your character automatically mount your Seikret, so try not to swap weapons as you’re getting attacked.
