A pet owner from Ontario, Canada, caught her cat on camera using his new toy to with play with his canine brother, and internet users can’t cope with the viral footage.
The clip shared on TikTok in January under the username @val_blair shows the cat, Dex, using his new feather toy to play with his brother Dodie, who can be seen catching the feather as the feline swings it around for him. “When the cat uses his new toy to play with the dog,” says the caption.
The video quickly went viral on social media, where it has received more than 478,000 views and over 62,100 likes. Internet users where quick to point out how the cat was clearly in control of the situation, interacting with the pup as if he were his own pet.
One user, Ashleyck709, commented: “The cats like ‘I love playing with OUR dog.”
Déborah posted: “It never ceases to amaze me how smart cats are.”
JERI added: “That’s hysterical! The cat is acting like the adult playing with the baby.”

But does that mean that cats are more intelligent that dogs? Or is it just the way they play?
Companion animal psychologist Zazie Todd told BBC Science Focus that, while cats have smaller brains and far fewer neurons than their canine counterparts, it is how you use your head that defines how smart you are.
The question of whether cats or dogs are more clever has been topic of debate for years, but even scientists can’t come up with one definitive answer.
Faced with a series of tests, both animals performed similarly. While both dogs and cats showed some communications skills, and the ability to count, they also both failed the self-awareness test.
In conclusion, Todd said that animal intelligence shouldn’t be considered from a human perspective, and instead of which one is smarter, the real question is, could either of them manage without us?
A Catster article medically reviewed by Dr. Paola Cuevas says that cats and dogs are intelligent in different ways. While the average dog is not as adept at hunting as the average cat, the latter might not be as good as a dog at learning tricks. So, which pet is smarter depends on the individual task.
