If 2024 belonged to the leopard, then cow print is shaping up to be 2025’s winning pattern trend. We’ve only just entered February and our feeds have been flooded with the splotchy design, plastered over shoes, bags, and jackets alike.
Personally, I’ve never been much of a leopard print girly, finding it just a tad too loud for my more minimalist leanings. So the rise of cow print has me feeling a little more relieved. They’re warped polka dots, really, and basically black-and-white (if you squint really hard).
All over street style, our favorite influencers have already shown us a myriad of ways to style the print. Jackets seem to be the piece of choice, as the cow print lends itself well to a large surface, creating a interesting dimension to a coat or cropped shacket that looks slightly different depending on the angle.
For those who might find the print too overwhelming all over, cow print on shoes or handbags might feel more manageable and add just a touch of whimsy to any pared-back look.
A break-out print can feel overwhelming when it’s bring sprinkled all over our FYPs, and just because it’s trending doesn’t mean it’s obvious how best to style it in a way that works for you.
As with most prints, especially the cow print, there a few things to keep in mind to make sure don’t look like you’re headed to a rodeo. For one, try to stick to just one item in the print, so if it’s the coat or bag, keep the rest of your outfit simple, and definitely do not pile on another animal print, (though a case could be made for a clashing floral pattern for those a little more daring).
If you’re looking to dabble in the trend but are usually quite print-averse, opt for cow print that has more white than brown. That will more easily be incorporated into any look.
And finally, if you’re only interested in *the* of-the-moment cow print item right now, then it’s the Adidas Rasant boxing boots you want, and you’ll certainly get loads of envious stares on the streets. If something a little more subtle is what you’re after, try the chic tote from & Other Stories —though you’d best try your luck in stores as it keeps selling out online.
