Kate Middleton Marks World Cancer Day With a Little Help From Prince Louis

Monday marked World Cancer Day, and Kate Middleton took the opportunity to show support for others who have faced the disease. On Instagram, the princess posted a photo taken by her youngest son, Prince Louis, 6, showing Kate standing among a grove of trees with her arms outstretched. “Don’t forget to nurture all that which lies beyond the disease,” she captioned the image. According to the BBC, the photo was recently taken in Windsor.

Following Kate’s diagnosis with an unspecified form of cancer early last year, she underwent a round of “preventative chemotherapy.” In September, she announced that her treatment had concluded in a video showing her and her family, including children Louis, Prince George, and Princess Charlotte, outside near their country home Anmer Hall on the Sandringham Estate.

Last month, the princess announced that she was “in remission” from cancer following an engagement visiting patients at the Royal Marsden Hospital, where she underwent some of her own treatment. Though Kate picked up her pace of engagements over the course of January, the princess is still not returning to a full-time work schedule. On Tuesday, she traveled on a school bus with a group of children to the National Portrait Gallery.

In a 2024 message celebrating new gardens at the Natural History Museum in London, Kate spoke about the impact that nature has made on her life. “I know the power of nature to support our development and wellbeing, both by bringing us joy and helping to keep us physically, mentally and spiritually healthy,” she wrote in a July 2024 Instagram post.
