Khloé Kardashian stood up for Kenneth “Babyface” Edmonds by calling out red carpet reporters for cutting his interview short to talk to Chappell Roan at the 2025 Grammys.

The “Kardashians” star slammed the Associated Press’ entertainment journalists Krysta Fauria and Leslie Ambriz as “disrespectful” via X on Sunday after a clip of the awkward interaction went viral.

“This is so disrespectful how Babyface was treated in this interview. Babyface has had such a significant impact on the music industry, in sooo many ways,” she wrote, echoing outrage expressed by other Babyface fans.

Kardashian, 40, continued, “Its maddening to see a LEGEND not get the respect and attention they deserve. He is a pioneer and deserves so much better than this.

“With decades of groundbreaking work as a songwriter, producer, and performer, he’s shaped the sound of multiple generations. I love you @babyface And I am a forever fan and thankful for all that you have blessed us with. By the way- what a class act you are.”

The Good American co-founder concluded her post, “PS big or small, old or new, – you don’t treat people like this. At least not in my eyes. There’s a way to handle this and this was wrong in my opinion.”

Kardashian was not the only person upset by the reporters’ actions. Dionne Warwick wrote on X, “13x Grammy Award winning Kenneth ‘Babyface’ Edmonds? Am I seeing this correctly?”

The “That’s What Friends Are For” singer, 84, followed up her message with a screenshot of the definition of “decorum” and tagged the news agency.

In the clip in question, which was caught during the AP’s livestreamed coverage of the red carpet, Babyface, 65, spoke with the two journalists about new trends in R&B.

As he started to answer Ambriz’s final question, Fauria quickly interrupted the “Whip Appeal” singer to shout for Roan, who was standing closely behind him.

Babyface seemed to be a good sport about the ordeal as he smiled and gave the mic back to Ambriz before bowing out of the chat.

Fauria and her co-hosts Ambriz and Gerard Hamilton offered a final coordinated apology to the music producer before they closed their livestream.

“I wanted to say I’m really sorry about interrupting Babyface earlier,” Fauria said, attributing the moment to the “commotion” of the carpet and Roan’s presence.

“I’m a big Babyface fan, as are we all, and so I just wanted to say that I really apologize for that.

“We’ve got directors in our ears telling us to wrap it up. Oftentimes, we want to continue those conversations — I really still want to hear Babyface’s answer about women and R&B progressing,” Ambriz added, saying that she was “looking forward” to interviewing the singer again in the future.

“It’s unfortunate that I was a part of that. I should’ve done more to stop it. But I’m very happy that he stopped to talk to us in the first place.”
