Moonray Studios said its blockchain game Moonray will debut on both Xbox Series X/S and PlayStation 5 launch later this year.
The blockchain based gaming project aims to expand from PC to Xbox as well as Playstation 5 in 2025.Developer Moonray Studios announced its flagship game Moonray is due to launch on Xbox Series X/S, following the Playstation 5 launch announcement late last year.
In earlier statements, the company also confirmed a mobile auto-battler is in the works as the studio continues to expand the Moonray ecosystem. Moonray has been available on PC via Epic Games Store since July 1, 2024, and has since then driven over 400,000 unique wallet connects to the Moonray Ecosystem.
“We are beyond thrilled to show the world just how far web3 gaming can go, and this is just the beginning. As one of the first Web3 games to make its way to consoles, this is a monumental step for us and a testament to the quality of our project. ” said Moonray cofounder Hans Andersson, in a statement.
The game played by both casual gamers and competitive esports pros alike, recently also announced success in its funding efforts with over $10 million raised to date through a series of funding rounds hosted since its inception in 2021. Investors include Animoca Brands, Republic and more.
Late last year, MNRY, an ERC20 token fueling the Moonray Ecosystem launched on centralized exchanges ByBit, KuCoin, Gate.io, and MEXC.
Moonray Studio made waves in the Web3 gaming segment after launching an action-packed multiplayer arena game on Epic Game Store. The game includes a variety of game modes such as 4v4, 8-man deathmatch, team objective, and duel mode (1v1) in which players seek to defeat opponents in melee combat to climb the leaderboards and earn rewards.
Set in a colorful post-human world, Moonray provides immersive gameplay and intense combat challenging the gamers offensive and defensive prowess .
In November 2024, Moonray also set a record for what became one of the largest NFT mints on OpenSea, with over 220,000 exclusive in-game character items minted within 48 hours.
The company has already ventured into artforms outside of traditional gaming, with the release of its graphic novel ‘Mother’s skin’ — followed by a second novel called Echoes of Ascension, both of which are available in over 4,000 stores across North America and the United Kingdom.
Moonray hasn’t disclosed dates for its initial Xbox or Playstation playtests, but the team confirmed in a statement that it has started porting the title from PC to Xbox as well as PS5. Moonray aims to conduct playtest across all consoles in the second half of the year, with more details to be announced soon.
