In the wake of Den Of Thieves: Pantera grossing close to $50M around the globe, Lionsgate, Tucker Tooley Entertainment and Gerard Butler‘s G-BASE are putting Den of Thieves 3 into active development.

Butler is eyeing a return along with O’Shea Jackson. Lionsgate is currently in talks with writer-director Christian Gudegast. G-BASE banner partner Alan Siegel is producing.

Den of Thieves 2: Pantera opened to No. 1 at the domestic box office to $15M and has grossed more than $32M stateside. The film launched on PVOD on Tuesday after an 18-day window. Worldwide the Den of Thieves franchise has grossed north of $126.5M.

Tucker Tooley Entertainment, produced and co-financed the first film and brought the franchise to Lionsgate from STX. Tooley will co-produce and jointly finance Den of Thieves 3 under his label and Lionsgate will, natch, release the next chapter.
