Kelly Ripa made a lasting impression on a young Lacey Chabert.
The Hallmark star joined Ripa and Mark Consuelos on Wednesday’s Live with Kelly and Mark, where she and Ripa took a brief stroll down memory lane.
“I started when I was seven years old,” Chabert recalled of her acting career. “Here in [New York] city.”
Ripa, an All My Children alum, asked Chabert if her work on the soap opera was her first job. While the Mean Girls star clarified that it “was one of [her] first jobs,” she highlighted a memorable individual from her 10-episode stint on the show.
“But do you know what I remember from the show? You,” she told Ripa.
“You do?” Ripa replied, seemingly stunned.
Chabert continued, “Yes. I mean, Susan Lucci was wonderful and it was so much fun. But I remember you, and I thought you were just the coolest. And I was like, I want to be just like you.”
Ripa teased, “And now that you’re an adult, you realize I was struggling and the goofiest weirdo ever.”
Nonetheless, Chabert — who played All My Children‘s Bianca Montgomery for 10-episode arc between 1992 and 1993 — insisted that Ripa is “still the best,” telling her, “I still want to be just like you.”
Consuelos, another former All My Children star, sweetly chimed in, “She was very, very, very cool.”
The two co-hosts, who met as co-stars on the soap opera, were reminded of the day they met when fellow All My Children alum Sarah Michelle Gellar made a visit to the show in December 2024.
“I guess I was in hair and make-up… and Kelly comes in, and this is the ’90s, so she had those huge velcro rollers that she used to wear in her hair,” Gellar remembered. “And she comes running in, no make-up, and she’s like, ‘Oh my God!’ And I’m like, ‘What happened?’ She’s like, ‘There is the most beautiful man in the rehearsal hall… I’m in love.”
Gellar noted that Ripa “couldn’t speak” after setting her sights on Consuelos.
“She literally saw you — and this girl never is at a loss for words,” she teased. “She was at a complete loss for words.”
