Jimmy Kimmel could not hold back his criticisms of President Donald Trump after he made sure to give himself a shoutout while congratulating the Kansas City Chiefs for making it to the Super Bowl for the third time in a row.

The President “took to Truth Social to congratulate the Chiefs and himself,” Kimmel explained on Monday’s (Jan. 27) Live.

Kimmel then shared a screenshot of Trump’s Truth Social post, which read, “Congratulations to the Kansas City Chiefs. What a GREAT Team, Coach, Quarterback, and virtually everything else, including those fantastic FANS, that voted for me (MAGA!) in record numbers. Likewise, congratulations to the Buffalo Bills on a tremendous season. They will do a lot of winning long into the future!!!”

The Live audience laughed as Kimmel pointed out, “That’s right. The real AFC champion is Donald Trump.”

The Kansas City Chiefs will be facing off against the Philadelphia Eagles for the first time since 2023.

The late night host has continued to be a vocal critic of Trump’s, taking aim at his cabinet appointees, his family, and his politics. Kimmel recently slammed Trump and the House Republicans for investigating Jan. 6 again after Trump already pardoned roughly 1,500 insurrectionists convicted of storming the Capitol.

“In other words, get ready for a whole year of someone trying to convince us Nancy Pelosi pooped in her own desk,” Kimmel quipped.

He added that we already “know who is responsible for Jan. 6.”

“He’s sitting in the White House right now playing whack-a-mole with his Diet Coke button,” he quipped.

Jimmy Kimmel Live! airs on weeknights at 11:35/10:35c on ABC.
