What to expect from Black Ops 6 Season 2
Season 2 is bringing a ton of new content to Multiplayer, Zombies, and Warzone. Here are some of the biggest updates:
- Multiplayer is receiving four brand-new maps and one returning map. Bounty (core), Dealership (core), and Lifeline (strike) will be available at launch and Bullet (strike) will be available mid-season. Grind (core), the skatepark from Black Ops 2 has been remastered and is returning mid-season.
- Multiplayer will gain a brand-new mode in Overdrive and see the return of Gun Game at the start of the season. Overdrive is a twist on Team Deathmatch where you’ll earn buffs as you eliminate enemies, while Gun Game is a free-for-all mode where eliminating an enemy changes your weapon.
- The Tomb, a new Zombies map, is coming with the launch of Season 2. This map takes place after the events at Citadelle des Morts and follows the characters Weaver, Maya, Carver, and Grey as they search the ancient catacombs.
- Zombies gains a new wonder weapon in the Staff of Ice and a new enemy type, the Shock Mimic. Fire blasts of frost and heal your allies from a distance with the Staff of Ice, but be wary as Shock Mimics can disguise themselves as useful items.
- Warzone updates are focused more on improving the gameplay with quality of life improvements and addressing bugs. Some updates will come with the launch of the season, but more will come as the season progresses.
- A new season means a new battle pass. Earn new weapons, blueprints, and operators, while the store has a Terminator bundle to dig into.
- Elsewhere, start fresh in and earn new ranked play rewards for both Multiplayer and Warzone. Gain new rewards depending on your wins, eliminations, and ranked placement.
- Six new weapons will be available across Season 2. At launch, you’ll be able to get the PPSh-41 SMG, Cypher 091 assault rifle, and Feng 82 LMG from the battle pass, while the TR2 marksman rifle can be earned from an event. The remaining two weapons have not been announced yet, but you can expect a melee weapon and a projectile armament to come mid-season.
Speaking of later in the season — there’s a “Terminator” event from Feb. 6, “Shadow Hunt” from Feb. 13, and the “St. Patrick’s Day: Clover Craze” sometime in March.
